EXPECTATIONS:
|
We are far more than just a collection of
voices. We are an ensemble. Choral singing is a very powerful
art form because of the way so many diverse voices and
expressive feelings can meld into one unified sound. We can only
accomplish this if we truly develop as a unit. That is far more
than knowing the notes – it’s forming a sound, a spirit – in
essence, creating the “music.” In order to do that, all members
need to attend all rehearsals, arriving on time, and staying for
the entire session, maintaining a high level of alertness to the
music being made during that time. However, the most productive
people are often very busy people, and conflicts will arise. In
the case of a conflict causing you to miss, arrive late, or
leave early, please contact Margie in advance so she can plan
more effectively. In the case of a situation that will make it
necessary for you to consistently arrive late or leave a little
early, please make her aware of that as well, again, for
planning purposes. At any rate – please make arrangements in
such a way that you will not miss more than a maximum of three
rehearsals. With your attention to these expectations we will
surely achieve our potential. Thanks!! |
